Course of Studies

Exams and credits

There is no traditional examination period in the WEMBA program. A student is credited for a course in a given subject according to individual rules determined by the lecturer. These may comprise a written exam, a project (individual or group), a take home exam etc. The final marks comprise such elements as activity during the courses, results of computer simulation games, tests, various papers to be prepared.

In the course of their studies, WEMBA Program participants analyze over a hundred case studies and participate in two computer simulation games, as well as in a negotiation game and in negotioations run in international teams during the International Residency. The most ambitious and difficult practical test is in the fourth and last semester. It comprises developing and asserting a business project. The project is developed by Executive MBA students from Austria, China, Poland and the USA, and then presented at the University of Minnesota during international residency.

„By incorporating all that has been learned in their respective executive MBA courses, the Executive MBA virtual teams take this unique project to a new level that is truly global. Each team consists of students from four different countries, three continents and three time-zones (Austria, China, Poland, and the U.S.). Apart from providing students with the experience of working in global teams, we are confident that this project will challenge their creativity, and foster long-term relationships across the four countries.”
